Paul Robeson Str. 33/Driesenerstr. 11 is located in Pankow/Prenzlauer Berg, right in the popular area close to Arnim Square and Mauerpark. Nevertheless, the transport links are very good: 300m by foot there is the tram stop (Line M13) and the nearest underground stop is just 750m away (U-Bahn Schönhouser Allee).

THE LOCATION

Prenzlauer Berg, established in 1920, is a district in Berlin’s Pankow borough. Some 152 761 residents (as of 30 June 2013) appreciate its family-friendly, multicultural atmosphere. Large open spaces such as the Mauerpark, Volkspark Prenzlauer Berg and Anton-Saefkow-Park provide a green oasis of peace in the heart of Berlin. Together with the Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg district, Prenzlauer Berg is one of Berlin’s trendiest neighbourhoods, not only because of its seemingly endless leisure opportunities but also because of its on-going economic and social upswing. Comprehensive refurbishment is one of the key reasons for the district’s increasing popularity. The many classic historic buildings dating from the Wilhelminian era are being restored to their former glory, ensuring that the neighbourhood retains its historic character. The district, covering an area of just under 11 km², has a total of 88 544 residential units and a high rate of influx into, and outflow out of, the area amounting to approx. 40 000 residents annually.

THE PROPERTY

The construction was build in 1906 and it consists of one front house as a corner building, each with its own entrance from both streets (Paul Robeson Strasse and Driesenerstr.) and a side wing, which can be accessed from both sides via a separate staircase.  There are no lifts in any of the buildings. The attic has been expanded in 1990 for residential purposes and, in this context the object has also been given a complete new roof.  There are a total of 36 units available. 
The building has been very well maintained over the years. There are no major renovation works planned in the future. Last year, there have been some renovation works done, including a new facade and the staircases, which have been painted and received new carpet. The apartments located in the front house with exposure on the street all have balconies, loggia or bays. The side wing apartments all have balconies. The staircases feature the original windows, which have been preserved from the date of construction. Also, the apartment´s original entrance doors have been refurbished and richly decorated in 2014. Each apartment comes with its own cellar.
