Stargarder Straße 74
Stargarder Strasse is a tree-lined road intersecting with Schönhauser Allee and just a few metres away from popular Helmholtzplatz square with its weekly farmer’s market. This area is particularly sought-after among young people and families. It offers a wide range of shopping facilities, both for daily needs as well as for larger purchases. Numerous small shops; welcoming cafés and restaurants; a large cinema and delicatessen stores are located along the road. The Schönhauser Allee Arcaden shopping centre and numerous supermarkets are also just a short distance away. The Schönhauser Allee S- and U-Bahn train station provides rapid transport links to Berlin’s central “Mitte” district immediately to the south as well as also to Tegel and Schönefeld Airports.
The Mauerpark park with its green recreational areas and popular flea market on Sundays is also close by.
Prenzlauer Berg, established in 1920, is a district in Berlin’s Pankow borough. Some 152 761 residents (as of 30 June 2013) appreciate its family-friendly, multicultural atmosphere. Large open spaces such as the Mauerpark, Volkspark Prenzlauer Berg and Anton-Saefkow-Park provide a green oasis of peace in the heart of Berlin. Together with the Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg district, Prenzlauer Berg is one of Berlin’s trendiest neighbourhoods, not only because of its seemingly endless leisure opportunities but also because of its on-going economic and social upswing. Comprehensive refurbishment is one of the key reasons for the district’s increasing popularity. The many classic historic buildings dating from the Wilhelminian era are being restored to their former glory, ensuring that the neighbourhood retains its historic character. The district, covering an area of just under 11 km², has a total of 88 544 residential units and a high rate of influx into, and outflow out of, the area amounting to approx. 40 000 residents annually.
The property in Stargarder Strasse is an historic Berlin tenement building constructed in around 1890 and comprising a front building; courtyard building; single storey connecting building and cross building in the 2nd courtyard. The latter was originally constructed as a workshop and still retains its special charm today. The property includes a total of 37 residential and 3 commercial units. The apartments located on the first to fourth floors of the front building have south-west facing balconies. All apartments on the top, former attic, floors have balconies or recessed balconies (loggias) with the exception of those located in the 2nd cross building. Some apartments on the top floor have dormer windows and roof gardens. The apartments’ ornate front doors, dating from the original construction period, are a particularly attractive feature. The inner courtyard has been turned into a garden with seating areas.
